The Ku Klux Klan was formally incorporated under the laws of the state of Georgia on Dec. 4, 1915. Ernest Heppner was born in Germany of Jewish descent. While in his late teens in 1939, he and his mother fled Germany and went to the Shanghai Ghetto in China where they remained until they were liberated by U.S. troops at the end of WWII. In 1947, he came to the U.S. and in 1954 settled in Indianapolis, Indiana. He made speeches, gave lectures and wrote articles on the Holocaust, extremism, and racism.
